4 Must-Haves for a Luxury Master Bedroom Suite

Luxury master suite with soaking tub and fireplace

You spend so much time and attention on other areas of the home – now it’s time to do something for yourself. Let’s check out some must-haves when creating a luxury master bedroom suite.

This space will be just for you and your significant other. It’s where you start and end your day, so it should be a place that makes you feel calm yet energized. It will be a place you can’t wait to return to at the end of the day.

Need some ideas? Here are some of our favorite master suite necessities that will transform your bedroom into a luxury suite.

Fireplace

Adding a fireplace to your master bedroom suite is a must if you want your room to feel luxurious. The fireplace can, of course, heat up the room, but it also helps to create a peaceful or romantic environment.

We can install a gas or electric fireplace, so all you have to do is flip a switch, and your fire is on! Another option is to use your fireplace as a room divider between the bedroom and your master bathroom. Imagine soaking in the tub while watching the flames dance around – so relaxing!

Custom Closet

An organized closet will make your mornings so much easier, and the best way to ensure your closet stays organized is by building it custom.

Of course, you should also include enough shelving and clothing racks to allow your clothing to be easily found, but your closet can also have some fun features that are unique to you. If you are a shoe collector, we can build shelves with lighting that allows your shoes to have the spotlight they deserve. If you have designer handbags you want to show off, we could create something similar for them.

Your custom closet should also include a dressing room where you can comfortably get dressed. This will include proper lighting so you can see what you’re wearing as well as a full-length mirror. If there’s space, you could add an antique chandelier or other light fixture to make your closet feel more like a room and not just a place to store your clothes.

Private Patio

Having access to a private patio off your master bath will definitely help when converting it into a luxury master suite. Your patio does not have to be big, but it should be a private area only accessible through your bedroom. Here you can enjoy a cup of coffee or do a little morning yoga before you start your day.

Natural Light

Having the proper lighting in your master bedroom suite is essential. We like to ensure there is plenty of natural light by installing huge windows on one of the walls. The windows will light up the room and act as your space’s focal point.

Another option is to install a skylight to bring in some extra natural light. This way, your master suite will start getting morning light to help wake you in the morning. It may not sound great, but being woken up with natural light is good for your mental health and will make getting up in the morning so much easier.
