4 Spring Remodeling Ideas for a Better Home

Spring is here! That means it is the perfect time to give your home a fresh new look. Let’s take a look at some ways you can update your home this spring:

Get Your Deck Ready

There’s nothing better than a family cookout on the deck during the long summer days. If your deck requires repair, or if you don’t have one at all, now is the time to have one installed.

Now is a great time to refresh or repair your deck. If the boards are starting to get saggy or the handrails feel loose, now is the time to repair your deck to avoid any mishaps when the deck is being used more.

Don’t have a deck? You’re missing out. A deck is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or to eat dinner after a long day. They can be used to relax or to celebrate a special occasion. An added benefit to adding a deck is that they increase your home value!

Transform Your Guest Room

Do you have a guest room that isn’t being used? Continuing with our Spring remodeling ideas, why not transform your spare room into a useful space like a home office?

You could use the closet space to create an office nook where your desk and computer are set up. Plus it allows extra room to store files and other office necessities.

If you need the guest room space, you could install a murphy bed. This will allow you to have easy access to a bed if someone needs it without having to use up most of the room’s living space. A little rearranging and presto! You have an extra bedroom for family or guests.

Get Bold in Your Powder Room

Want to take on a smaller project that will add a ton of character to your home? Turn your forgotten powder room into the most interesting space in your home.

Change out the builder-grade light fixture for an over-the-top chandelier. Paint the room a bold, bright color like emerald green or hot pink. Maybe add some wallpaper with bright florals or a geometric pattern for a bold accent. You could also dress up the powder room with some flooring that you would be hesitant to put in a larger space.

Some other ideas for a bold powder room could be hanging a huge mirror or installing an out-of-the-ordinary vanity.

Spring remodeling ideas often include organization like kitchen utensil drawers and spice drawers.

Spring into Organizing Your Kitchen

The kitchen can sometimes be the most cluttered part of the home, and now is the time to get it in order.

To start, get rid of the dishes, serving platters, and mugs that you never use – you know, the ones you were gifted for your wedding 15 years ago that are still sitting in the box. You can donate them to a local nonprofit, they always need kitchen items!

Next, look at the items you do use, and figure out a way to store them so that they are easy to access.

Our Spring remodeling ideas come into play once the clutter is under control. Consider installing new cabinets that include the latest in storage options, like large pull-out drawers to make it easier to get heavy appliances like the crockpot. New kitchen cabinets can also include swing-out organizers for hidden spaces, slide-out spice racks, and even a retractable arm to lift your stand mixer out for you.

If you have unique or sentimental dishes or glassware, consider installing upper cabinets with a glass front so they can be stored away from the everyday items and put on display. Hopefully, we have given you some ideas to get your home refreshed for spring. Let us know if you need any help!
