Ellicott City Bathroom Remodel Wins MBIA Award of Excellence

Ellicott City 2015 Bathroom Remodel Wins Remodeling Award of Excellence

from Maryland Building Industry Association | Bathroom Remodel Category: $70,000-$150,000

bath-showerOur client’s existing bathroom was very dated in appearance and function. She envisioned a spacious Master Bathroom Remodel with all the amenities of a modern spa, including an upstairs laundry room as well. T.W. Ellis was able to incorporate all her requests into her second floor bath area, even though the space could not be expanded.

The completed master bathroom produces a refreshing, spa-like atmosphere with its organic forms, muted earthy colors, and use of natural materials like stone, wood, metal and glass. A relaxing rhythm is created by the flowing mosaic of river rock pebbles on the wall behind the freestanding tub. This is beautifully echoed by the curvilinear design etched into the window glass. The sleek wood cabinets feature cushion-close dovetailed drawers and cushion-close hinges for gentle, quiet action. Slab-panel maple cabinet doors in a deep Espresso finish and clean metal hardware add to the calm appearance. The two matching oval sinks in glossy obscure glass augment the soothing ambience of the vanity. A built-in bench next to the tub offers comfortable seating, as well as an ample storage drawer beneath. The radiant underfloor heating system provides the ultimate spa experience.

Large format 12×18 Exquisite glazed tiles in Ivory cover the shower walls, creating a smooth modern vibe. The shower includes a built-in seat and convenient niches to hold toiletries. Natural light fills the shower enclosure through an octagonal window set into the exterior wall. The frameless shower door includes a Eduroshield professional coating that cuts down on 90% of the normally required cleaning. The adjacent laundry room utilizes a ventless dryer by Electrolux.
