Finishing Touches To Make Your Remodel Complete

Sometimes the little finishing touches are what make a home remodeling project special. These small details may be where you get to showcase your personality or take an ordinary project to the next level.

Here are some finishing touches we loved, and think you will too:

Dress Up Your Kitchen with Pendant Lights

This kitchen is clean and bright with crisp white cabinets, matching countertops, and a tiled backsplash. The star of the show, the pendant lights, was a bit of an afterthought.

The set of three lights draws the eye in, adds color and style, and ties the entire space together.

Many types of pendant lights can be installed over the kitchen island. We like to install them in sets of three to four, depending on how large the island is. Installing pendant lights is a great way to freshen up the kitchen space without replacing any of the big-ticket items.

You can get delicate, glass pendant lights that give a subtle hint of elegance to the space, or you could go for something with more of a theme like vintage-looking dome shade pendant lights.

Add Privacy in Your Master Bedroom

Does your master bedroom lack a door between the sleeping area and the master bathroom? Does the space look like something is missing? A modern barn door with exposed rails is the finishing touch that will make your bedroom look complete.

It will add character to your space while also being functional. A barn door will eliminate the annoyance of your early bird spouse brushing their teeth while you’re trying to sleep, while also giving them some extra privacy.

Barn doors come in a wide variety of colors and styles. You can go with a farmhouse theme, as we did in our client’s home, or do a very modern, all black with black hardware. Whichever you choose, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do so sooner!

Small Touches Go a Long Way in The Bathroom

Does it feel like something is missing in your bathroom? Try installing unique hardware.

We installed an overhead and handheld showerhead in our client’s tiled shower. This showerhead complements the dark woodsy tile and makes the shower look rustic.

The shower looked great before, but this small addition made an already good-looking space look more polished.

In your bathroom, you could swap out faucets, door pulls, and showerheads for something with an antique look. Think bronze or brushed nickel door pulls with matching faucets. You could also add brightly colored hardware to add a splash of color and then hang complementary artwork to bring an otherwise plain bathroom to life.

These small changes will become the focal point of the space.

If you’re planning to remodel or refresh a space in your home, let us know. We have even more ideas of how to use small, finishing touches to tie an entire room together. Give us a call or send us a message so we can talk about your project and your design style in detail.
