T.W. Ellis is pleased to introduce Jennifer Yingling, our new Project Specialist. Ever since she started working for us at the beginning of March she has proven to be an excellent addition to our team.
Jennifer grew up in Harford County, Maryland and was a creative fashion-forward type of girl. She always dreamed about having a career in the field of design. In high school she took college prep courses with a plan to attend a university. Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland College Park.
After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree, Jennifer was still overwhelmingly drawn to the field of design and fashion. She decided to attend the Robert Paul Academy of Cosmetology. After graduation, she worked in a salon and then started her own business called Sun2u. Sun2u is a mobile spray tanning business, which allowed Jennifer to work while being a stay-at-home mother to her daughter.
After her daughter started school, Jennifer was given the opportunity of practicing her design talents in the construction industry. She went to work full-time as a Project Manager for a construction company. She enjoyed working in construction, since she loves design. “I enjoy seeing the beginning stages of construction come to life and in the end become something incredible,” Jennifer remarked.
Her enthusiasm for the design aspects of the building trades eventually led her to apply for the Project Specialist position at T.W. Ellis. She was aware of the prestige of our company and that meant a lot to her. Additionally, she had many friends that knew Tim Ellis and describe him as a “building genius.” Her friends also asserted that Barry Ellis had an exceptional reputation of his own. Based on this information, Jennifer interviewed with T.W. Ellis and landed the job. We were excited to hire someone with her skills.
The main responsibility Jennifer has as Project Specialist is being the liaison between our clients and our team at T.W. Ellis. She works with the homeowners to help them make selections that they desire for their project. She also handles all the ordering and scheduling for the jobs to be completed. As clients make selections, she’s in charge of getting appliance specs to the field.
“I love the people I work with,” Jennifer states. “Everyone is so laid back and nice. Being a Project Specialist allows me to be creative and help homeowners design and make selections for their projects whether it’s for a kitchen or bathroom etc. I get such a thrill out of seeing a client’s project go through the stages of development.” Jennifer looks forward to gaining as much knowledge as possible from working with Tim and Barry and the company of T.W. Ellis. In the near future, she hopes to get her Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC) license.
Outside the office, Jennifer is very family oriented. She likes to spend her free time with her husband Chad and their 9-year-old daughter Jamisen. She accompanies Jamisen to all of her dance classes and lacrosse games. “Every weekend is packed solid with Jamisen’s activities,” says Jennifer who humorously refers to herself as “Dance Mom.”
