Now that the new year is almost here, we can think about some home improvements to tackle this coming year. Here is a list of some ideas you should consider doing to improve your home in 2022.

Get The Kitchen You’ve Always Wanted

Will this be the year you give up Doordash and become a gourmet cook? Upgrading to the kitchen you’ve always wanted will make that goal so much easier.

Whether you want a craftsman, contemporary, farmhouse, or mid-century style, upgrading your cabinets, countertops, and backsplash is a necessary part of any kitchen remodeling project.

Create a Relaxing Shower

Make creating a shower space that is as functional as it is luxurious a primary remodeling project for the new year. A large walk-in shower with multiple shower heads and a wireless, voice-activated control panel that allows you to listen to calming music will help you clear your mind.

Add a Home Office Designed for Productivity

If you’re one of the many working from home for the foreseeable future, you’ll want to create an office space that will help you stay productive. The trick is to make it feel like you are going to work instead of staying home with so many things to distract you.

You’ll need to find a space in your home that can be distraction-free, can be sound-proofed and have a separate entrance if possible. If you have the space, you can also create a “break room” or install a kitchenette so you won’t have to leave the office until your workday is done.

Get Organized

Of all the remodeling projects you may consider, getting organized is one of the most common new year’s resolutions. We can help you organize each space in your home to help you stay on top of your to-do list without spending hours looking for your belongings.

One area to work on is organizing your kitchen. You can install pull-out drawers to make storing your pots and pans easier. You should also make the most of cabinet space by creating a designated area for everything, so you always know where to find it.

Installing shelves is something else you may want to consider in making organizing easier in the space you have. You can add them to the living room and make them decorative, or add extra shelving to the garage to store tools, seasonal items, and anything else you may have accumulated over the years.

Make Your Home Green

While you’re making your home renovations, think of ways to add more environmentally friendly options to your new design. The best way to do this is by upgrading your old appliances. Purchasing appliances that are rated as energy-star certified can not only be beneficial to the environment but also save you money.

You can also make sure to keep your home’s temperature comfortable and reduce the amount you use your heating or cooling system by making sure the windows and doors are sealed.

If you still feel like your home gets drafty, you may need to install new windows. Again, looking for energy-star certified windows is your best bet to make sure you are getting products that will be sustainable.

Whatever remodeling projects you decide on to improve your home in the new year, we are here to help you. Whether you need help designing, installing, or all of the above, T.W. Ellis is ready to take on the job.
