Tim Ellis Receives Graduate Master Remodeler Designation

Committed to the Best

The #1 goal at T.W. Ellis is to make you, our client, happy. To that end, honesty, dependability, and professionalism are continually emphasized in all aspects of our company’s work. Tim Ellis specifically has gone the extra mile to earn a wide variety of certifications and accreditations in the building industry. According to Tim, “T.W. Ellis is one of the most certified and accredited remodeling companies in Maryland!”

We are committed to improving our company and highly value professionalism in the industry. Tim’s recent achievement of the Graduate Master Remodeler (GMR) designation is one more way to ensure you are getting the highest level of knowledge and experience from T.W. Ellis. Tim Ellis is currently the ONLY certified GMR in the state of Maryland!

GMR logoThe Graduate Master Remodeler allows experienced Certified Graduate Remodelers (CGR) to attain additional training and recognition for their longevity in the remodeling industry. This program is the master level for the CGR designation. To acquire the GMR, one must have a minimum of 15 years’ remodeling experience, complete five more required courses and have years of experience with a respected remodeling association.

In addition, they are required to carry workers’ compensation and liability insurance and maintain a valid business license. Upon earning the designation, they must sign a Code of Ethics specific to their designation. It is also required to complete 12 hours of continuing education related to building and remodeling every three years.

Tim likens his position in the company to that of an educator, not a sales person. “I like to educate our clients on the process required for their projects,” Tim says. “I want them to understand what will take them from where they are to where they want to be.” He continually seeks out new opportunities, immerses himself in the details and earns the necessary credentials to become an expert.

“These certifications pay off because I know when I sit down to make a presentation to clients, that we’re giving them the best anyone can give them. Regardless of whether the homeowner sees value in these designations or not, I know I’m doing the right thing for my business and for the client. So when I leave their home, I sleep at night knowing I gave them everything I could professionally give them. From there, it’s up to them and what they want to do. They have great drawings. They have a great estimate. And it is what it should be.” –Tim Ellis
