Certified Green Basement Finishing - Anne Arundel County, Maryland

This finished basement includes a nice family room with the view of the water being the focal point of the room. The owners also wanted a full bathroom in the new space, which was added adjacent to the family room, heated floors, as well as a mini wet bar completed the space. In completing this project the owners wanted to incorporate Green/sustainable features. The floor joists were constructed using lumber that was saved from a deck that we previously demoed last year. Throughout this remodel we used the practices of the 2012 ICC 700 Green Building Standards for Remodeling Basements. This was the first Green Remodeled Basement to this Standard. This project won the Silver Merit Award for Green Remodel, from the Home Builders Association of Maryland for 2013!

The owners wanted to incorporate Green/sustainable features into this basement remodel so a green bathroom was added to complete this project.
