Rockfield Manor Kitchen Remodel - Bel Air, Maryland

We were asked by interior designer Alisha Pitarra to remodel the existing kitchen at Rockfield Manor for the Designer Show House. The Show House is one of the major fund raising events of the Chesapeake Cancer Alliance. Rockfield Manor provides 19 indoor and outdoor spaces to be decorated by area designers in harmony with the original style of the house. We had four weeks to remodel the existing kitchen. The quality of construction had to be at the same level as the other areas being designed. Every part of the kitchen remodeling project was donated or completed at cost. The estimate value of this kitchen remodel donated by suppliers and installers is @ $50,000.00. Many of the guests who toured the Show House stated that the kitchen was their favorite room.

This kitchen was the 1st National Green Building Standard certified green kitchen remodeling project in the country. Some of the green features are: refurbished existing cabinets; all paint and finishes had low or no VOC's; energy efficient ductless heating and cooling system; low flow faucets; wood beams from a barn that was torn down locally; doors and hardware from Second Chance, and compact fluorescent bulbs in all fixtures.
