Magnificent Kitchen Remodel Provides Space to Entertain

Our client really enjoys entertaining large groups of friends and family in her kitchen. Her children also invite friends over when they are home on college break. Her existing kitchen was sizable, but because of the family’s love of entertaining, our client desired the kitchen to be on a grander scale—even more open and free flowing. She was eager for her kitchen to have the latest high-tech appliances and an updated aesthetic. Samantha Petzrick Chinn of Petzrick Chinn Designs worked together with the homeowner on designing the plans for her kitchen remodeling project.

T.W. Ellis was pleased to be selected as the remodeling firm to build this gorgeous kitchen. Construction began with the removal of two walls to increase the size of the kitchen area. Our client envisioned more countertop space so she could be actively involved in baking—one of her favorite activities—while at the same time carrying on conversations with friends seated nearby. Therefore, two large kitchen islands offer seating on the outside, while appropriate work aisle space is provided between the two islands for food preparation. Dual appliances—two disposals, two dishwashers, and two sinks—allow more than one cook to work in the kitchen at the same time. Incredible cabinet organization solutions provide the ultimate food and cookware storage. A butler’s pantry and a mini wet bar are located off the kitchen.

A lot of detail went into the remodeling of our client’s kitchen. The high-end custom wood cabinets by Kountry Kraft were hand painted. Some of the cabinet doors open and slide back into a small internal pocket built into the side of the cabinet for convenience. The cabinet door above the refrigerator flips up and rolls back to give easy access. The elegant countertops are of Mount Blanc Quartzite. A dazzling black ventilation hood above the range is painted metal with stainless steel trim by Vent-A-Hood. Behind the range, the backsplash is made of ceramic subway tile installed up to the ceiling in a herringbone pattern. T.W. Ellis’ carpenters made all the graceful columns on-site.

Our team installed classic red oak flooring throughout, which ties the space together as one. The other flooring material is the Edilcuoghi Antigua Series White and Dark Grey floor tile that leads out to the patio, providing a convenient place to put your shoes as you come in the door. Our client’s laundry room was also redesigned as well. See more photos of this project on Houzz.

“This complex project was not without its challenges for our team,” states Victor Marchese, T.W. Ellis Project Manager. “There were several mechanical, plumbing, and electrical issues to overcome during the remodeling process. We are proud to have handled all of them successfully and everything is functioning well. Our client is very pleased with her luxurious new kitchen!”
