Clever Storage Solutions for Your Home

Under stair storage drawers and cubbies

If you’ve lived in your house for any length of time, you have probably accumulated a lot of stuff.

The problem is, as you get more and more stuff, you have found yourself without space to store it. You don’t use it often, but you also don’t want to throw it out.

That’s where we come in. We can find unused areas of your home for designing and creating functional storage solutions, so you don’t have to worry. Here are a few ideas for clever storage solutions that we can create in your home.

Make Use Of The Space Under Your Stairs

Have you ever looked at how much space there is under your stairway? Instead of letting it collect dust, put it to use!

We can install lighting and small shelves in the area under your stairs and then enclose it so you can keep items out of sight. This could be a great place to store seasonal items like your front porch wreaths, holiday decorations, or pool toys that don’t get used year-round.

Built-In Storage Solutions

Built-ins around a fireplace or television have been very popular for years. They can be installed in a living room, bonus room, and even in the master bedroom. They create a nice visual to look at, but more importantly, they also provide plenty of storage.

Adding enclosed cabinets on an otherwise bare wall will give you room to store odds and ends like your family photo albums, miscellaneous blankets, and other random items that you may not want to get rid of but aren’t sure where else they should be stored.

You can also make use of open shelving in your built-ins to store family heirlooms and books you’ve accumulated over the years.

If you’re worried that built-ins are a trend that will soon make your house look dated, don’t be. Built-ins have been around for decades, and likely won’t be going anywhere anytime soon!

However, you could always change up the style by repainting the built-ins if trends change drastically.

Install Shelves

If built-ins aren’t in your budget or just aren’t your style, installing shelves could be a smart option for you.

Installing shelves in the garage can be especially useful to store tools and other home maintenance equipment. Garages typically have tall, unused walls, and taking advantage of all of the vertical space will give you plenty of room to store all of your tools.

Shelves can even be big and sturdy enough to hold things like bikes and strollers that you may not be using but aren’t ready to part ways with.

Overhead storage racks are another great garage storage solution where you can keep more oversized items like luggage that would take up too much closet or floor space inside the house but are necessary to have.

If racks and shelves seem too bulky for you, we could also install a track system that will easily allow you to hang items like brooms and mops and prevent the area from getting too cluttered and unorganized.

Don’t Underestimate Your Bathroom

Bathrooms have gotten larger in recent years, but the storage space included has stayed the same.

Installing a vanity with drawers is an easy way to update your bathroom design while also adding space to store items. We could also look for an area to build cabinets that can hold towels, toiletries, and other items you need to keep hidden away.   Ready to get organized? We are here to help!
